Tourneytown expands beyond the
SunDome
Web site will cover 2008 state baseball games in Yakima
TOURNEYTOWN.COM
Tourneytown.com, the Yakima Herald-Republic's Web site
for state tournament basketball and volleyball coverage for the past several
years, will expand to include state baseball championships this year.
The Web site will feature coverage of the Class 1A and
Class 2A semifinals and finals on May 23 and 24 at Yakima County Stadium,
and the Class 1B and Class 2B semifinals and finals at YVCC's Parker Field
on those same dates.
Games featuring live coverage will be announced once
participants qualify for the finals.
Tourneytown.com has provided coverage of just over 900
state basketball games in Yakima since the site was started in 2002. State
volleyball coverage was added in 2003.
Prior to this spring, all Tourneytown.com coverage has
focused only on state tournaments held in the Yakima Valley SunDome.
The site also was the namesake for the Tourneytown.com
Shootout, held on Martin Luther King Jr. Day for the past six years. That
event has been discontinued. |
