Jake Fife's one-out, deep single to right with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh lifted Selah to a 2-1 Class 2A regional baseball victory over Clarkston on Saturday at Davis High School.

Fife's single, on an 0-2 pitch, was the only hit of the inning. The Vikings loaded the bases with two hit batsmen and a walk from Clarkston pitcher Cary Conklin.

The win pushes Selah into today's 4 p.m. game against East Valley-Yakima. The winner advances to the state semifinals Friday at Yakima County Stadium.

Clarkston tied the game at 1-1 on a one-out single by Tyler Gillie. Clarkston later loaded the bases with two outs in that inning, but Fife notched his 10th strikeout of the game to work out of the jam.

Selah scored its first run in the second, when Cody Collier, who finished 2-for-2, singled to center with one out and took third on Trevor Dallman's double to left. Tyler Porter followed with an RBI single to center.

Fife allowed four hits. Pinch-hitter Eric Speer led off the fifth inning with a single to right to break up the no-hitter.

Selah's defense struggled with five errors, which helped lead to Clarkston's unearned run.
