W.F. West pounds out 15 hits in 13-6 victory for third place

Colton Schoelkopf went 3-for-4 and Kylon Bonagofsky went 3-for-5 as W.F. West of Chehalis captured third place in the Class 2A state baseball tournament with a 13-6 victory over Othello on Saturday.

Schoelkopf had an RBI double in the first, and RBI single in the third, an RBI groundout in the fourth and a sacrifice fly in the sixth. Robert Pehl also had four RBIs, with a two-run double in the third, an RBI double in the sixth and added his final RBI when he was hit by a pitch in the second with the bases loaded.

W.F. West scored three times in each of the first three innings, added another run in the fourth and three more in the sixth.

Michael Garza homered for Othello to start the second, and Lee Gomez finished 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs.
