Early offense, Perry's complete game lift B-E, 8-3

Burlington-Edison rolled to a big lead early and
cruised to an 8-3 victory over Clarkston on Friday in the Class 2A state
baseball semifinals.
The win sends B-E (17-8) into Saturday's 7 p.m.
championship game against Sehome, which beat previously unbeaten Chehalis
3-2 earlier Friday.
B-E's Reed Perry tossed the complete-game victory,
getting into only mild trouble in the seventh inning, when Clarkston rapped
three of its hits and scored all its runs. Otherwise, Perry struck out seven
and took advantage of two double plays to shut down potential Bantam rallies
in the third and fourth innings.
The Tigers scored all eight runs in the first four
innings, and put the game away with three runs in the fourth. Six of B-E's
eight runs were earned as the Tigers pounded 10 hits.
Dylan Boe paced B-E with a 3-for-4 effort, and
Dalton Schwetz added two hits and two RBIs.
Layton Bush led Clarkston with a 2-for-3 game.
