   Vikings Charge to Fifth-Place Finish

YAKIMA HERALD-REPUBLIC

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Daniel Downs pumped in 21 points to lead Bellevue Christian past Kettle Falls 61-48 for fifth place in the Class 1A boys state tournament on Saturday.

John Baranowski added 15 points, seven assists and a game-high 12 rebounds for the seventh-ranked Vikings, who finished at 19-10. Third-ranked Kettle Falls ended the season in eighth place at 23-8.

Bellevue Christian led the entire game, though Kettle Falls trimmed the Vikings’ 10-point halftime lead to two, 44-42, early in the fourth quarter.

Cody Slater paced the Bulldogs with 15 points, Greg Mace added 12 and Gabe Aubertin had 10 points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots.
