  King's Rolls Into Semifinals

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Christina Wikstrom scored a game-high 13 points and Rachel Strand added 11 to lead top-ranked King’s to a 54-30 quarterfinal win over Dayton on Thursday in the Class 1A girls state tournament.

The Knights, 23-2, rolled to a 33-14 halftime lead and put the game away with a 16-4 third quarter. Wikstrom scored eight of her points during the first half.

Strand led the Knights’ rebounding effort with eight, and Chira Louie pulled down seven.

Trisha Heinrich scored nine points and pulled in 14 rebounds for Dayton, which fell to 15-10. Heinrich also had four steals and a blocked shot.

Dayton shot a dismal 14.9 percent from the floor, converting only 7 of 47 shots, including 3 of 21 in the first half.
