   Kiona-Benton Rallies, Downs Othello

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Rick Rose and Jeff Linehan each scored 10 points in the second half as Kiona-Benton rallied for a 52-45 victory over Othello on Friday in the Class 2A boys state tournament.

The Bears (18-8) rallied from a five-point first-half deficit and took the lead for good on a Rose jumper with 4:08 to play in the third that started seven-point run that ended the quarter. Othello cut the lead to one, 42-41, with 4:06 to play but couldn’t tie the game.

Rose finished with a game-high 20 points and Linehad added 16. Rose also had six rebounds.

The Bears will meet Lynden Christian (16-10) at 10:30 a.m. Saturday for fifth and eighth places.

Matt Coffman led Othello with 16 points. The Huskies finished the season at 16-11.
