YAKIMA, Wash. -- David Brittinen scored a game-high 20 points, including 12 in the second half, as Hoquiam held off Lakeside 48-46 on Friday in the consolation bracket of the Class 2A boys state tournament.

Justin Reed hit a 3-pointer with 5:33 to play that made it 44-41 and gave Hoquiam the lead for good. Reed scored five of his six points in the final period.

A Lakeside 3-point attempt with 2 seconds remaining missed the mark.

Jeff Wayman added 17 points for Hoquiam (25-1), which will face Ilwaco at 1:30 p.m. Saturday for fourth place. Lakeside ended its season at 20-5.

Brittinen had 12 rebounds and Wayman eight for the Grizzlies.

Jared Tikker scored 16 points for the Eagles, and Greg Smith had 10 rebounds.
