   Hoekema Leads Lyncs to Fifth, 60-54

YAKIMA HERALD-REPUBLIC

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A.J. Hoekema led four player in double figures with a game-high 18 points to lead Lynden Christian to a 60-54 win over Kiona-Benton and fifth place in the Class 2A boys state tournament on Saturday.

Hoekema made 8 of 14 shots and pulled down 10 rebounds as the Lyncs finished the season with a 17-10 record.

Nathan Kooi and Mark Holleman each added 15 points, and Greg Burgers finished with 12. Holleman dished out six assists and grabbed four steals.

Brett Harding and Stuart Allen scored 13 points apiece for Ki-Be, which finished in eighth place with an 18-9 record. Rick Rose added 11 points and Jeff Linehan 10. Rose had a game-high 12 rebounds as the Bears outrebounded LC 34-24.
