   La Center Rolls to Opening Victory

YAKIMA HERALD-REPUBLIC

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Tanya Baker poured in 24 points as La Center routed Ephrata 69-37 in the first game of the Class 2A girls tournament Wednesday at the Yakima Valley SunDome.

Baker made 9 of 13 shots, including 3 of 4 3-point attempts. She also came up with eight steals.

Sarah Davis added 15 points and Sunny Moore pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds for the Wildcats (19-5).

Jana Flannery led Ephrata (12-12) with 14 points.

La Center shot 52.7 percent (29 of 55) from the field and outrebounded the Tigers 40-28.
