Ryman Leads NWC to Big
Win
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Joel Ryman poured in a game-high 24 points and pulled down
10 rebounds as Northwest Christian cruised past Archbishop Murphy 56-41 in
the opening round of the Class 1A boys state tournament Wednesday.
Ryman scored 15 of his points in the second half as the
Crusaders (24-2) used a 16-4 third quarter to put the game out of reach.
Robert Lippman added 17 points, including 10 in the first half.
Chris Mitchell scored 14 points to lead Archbishop
Murphy (17-8).
The Crusaders moved the ball effectively on offense,
coming up with 18 assists, led by Jesse Vowels’ five assists and Steve
Vandenburg’s four.
N.W. Christian also capitalized with five 3-pointers,
including Ryman’s 4-of-7 performance.
