Layton Leads Toledo Rout

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Amy Layton scored 12 points and Meggie Abplanalp added nine as Toledo cruised past Overlake 60-27 in the first round of the Class 1A girls state tournament on Wednesday.

Layton scored eight of her points in the first half as the Indians (17-8) rolled to a 34-12 halftime advantage.
Amanda MacKenzie led the Owls (16-7) with seven points.

Toledo dominated all aspects of the game, outrebounding the Owls 58-35, racking up 18 assits to Overlake’s five and shooting 40.9 percent (27 of 66) from the field to the Owls’ 19.6 percent (10 of 51).

Layton had 10 rebounds, six assists and a steal for the Indians. Rachel Wallace added nine rebounds, and Tamara Plandel had four assists and two steals.
