Burbank Rolls to First-Round Win

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Haley Clemmens scored 12 of her team-high 16 points in the first half as Burbank pulled away from Cedar Park Christian in the second half for a 60-40 victory in the Class 1A girls state tournament Wednesday.

Shana Smith added 10 points for the Coyotes (20-5), who used a 14-6 run in the third quarter to take firm control of the game.

Katie Turner had 13 rebounds and Clemmens added 10 as Burbank managed a 52-49 advantage on the boards.

Monique Lee paced the Eagles (18-8) with a game-high 19 points and nine rebounds. Kelly Luke added 10 points.
