Braves win in 2OT 

Keel hits game-winner, pours in 24 points

Luke Keel converted a three-point play with 27.6 seconds to play as sixth-ranked LaConner staved off a potential upset with a 53-49 double-overtime win over Colfax on Wednesday in the Class 1A boys state tournament.

Keel scored on a fast break and converted the free throw to break a 49-49 deadlock. He added a free throw with nine seconds left to close the scoring, and finished with a game-high 24 points.

The Braves scored last both at the end of regulation and the first overtime. Ryan Coonc, who scored nine points, hit a free throw with 21 seconds left in the fourth quarter, and Colfax couldn’t get off a viable shot before the buzzer.

In the first overtime, Jake Roth hit a layup with 49 seconds remaining. Roth had 13 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.

Erik Wick scored 17 points and Brian Danaher 15 for Colfax (9-16). Danaher added 13 rebounds and two blocks.

LaConner, which improved to 20-3, mustered 12 steals as Colfax committed 19 turnovers.
