Napavine beats
Toledo (again)
 

Tigers top Indians, 42-36, to capture fourth place

Loren Bluhm and Shad Griffith each scored 13 points to rally Napavine past Toledo 42-36 for fourth place Saturday at the Class 1A boys state tournament.

It was the fourth time this year Napavine had beaten its Southwest District foe. Both teams finished with 22-5 records.

Napavine trailed by seven early in the second half and took the lead for good, 30-29, on two free throws by Jake Werner with 2:22 to play in the quarter.

The Tigers extended their lead to as many as seven in the fourth quarter. Toledo pulled within two points twice, the latest at 38-36 with 1:42 to play on a field goal by Cameron Steveson, but could get no closer.

Toledo’s Artem Wallace led all scorers with 17 points and 13 rebounds before fouling out with 3:04 to play in the game.

Bluhm had a game-high 16 rebounds.
