Artem Wallace poured in a game-high 22 points and
pulled down 18 rebounds to lead fourth-ranked Toledo to a 54-43 victory
over Cascade Christian in the Class 1A boys state tournament on
Wednesday.
The victory sets up a quarterfinal showdown at 5:30
p.m. Thursday against two-time defending state champ Brewster, which
beat Columbia (Burbank) 65-35 earlier Wednesday.
Toledo beat Brewster, ranked fifth, 54-42 in the
Tourneytown.com Shootout in the Yakima Valley SunDome on Jan. 17.

Chad Amrine added 14 points for the Indians (21-3),
who rolled to a 32-15 halftime lead.
The Cougars (16-7), led by Jordan Williams’ 18
points, used a 19-12 fourth-quarter run to close to a respectable
margin.
But the also suffered from poor shooting, making
just 25.9 percent (15 of 58) of their shots -- including just 6 of 28
3-point tries.
