Redmon leads
W. Pass to fourth
Panthers earn highest-ever state finish
YAKIMA HERALD-REPUBLIC
Kendra Redmon led three White Pass players in
double-figures as the Panthers held off Lake Roosevelt 64-57 to capture
fourth place Saturday in the Class 1A girls state tournament.
Redmon scored 16 of her game-high 18 points in the
second half for White Pass, which finished the year at 21-6 and earned
its highest-ever 1A state placing.
Teammates Kristen Andrew and Breanna Moody chipped
in 16 points each for the Panthers, and Moody pulled down a game-high 18
rebounds.
Andrew finished with nine steals – eight in the
first half – and just missed tying the single-game record of 10.
Rhonda St. Pierre led Lake Roosevelt (19-8) with 17
points and Amanda Marchand added 11. The Raiders, appearing in their
first state tournament since 1986, earned their second seventh-place
trophy.
