Lions roar in opener
Liberty Bell turns back Coupeville, 58-45
YAKIMA HERALD-REPUBLIC
Kimber Taylor led a balanced scoring attack with 14
points as fourth-ranked Liberty Bell beat Coupeville 58-45 on Wednesday
in the Class 1A girls state basketball tournament.
Katie McCurry added 11 points, and sisters Korrie
Bourn and Kelsey Bourn each chipped in 10 for the Mountain Lions (19-7),
who led 31-18 at the half and were never seriously challenged in the
second half.
Korrie Bourn had a game-high 11 rebounds, but
Coupeville outrebounded LB 41-34.
Brittany Black paced Coupeville (14-9) with 17
points. Teammate Lexie Black had eight rebounds and two blocked shots.
