Pullman's 58-47 win
 

Greyhounds to face Cashmere Saturday for 4th

Justin Cooper scored 15 points and Ben Hein added 14 as 10th-ranked Pullman beat Steilacoom 58-48 Friday in the consolation bracket of the Class 2A boys state tournament.

The Greyhounds (19-7) advance to Saturday’s 1:30 p.m. game against Cashmere for fourth and seventh places.

Pullman trailed 15-12 after one quarter, but outscored Steilacoom 32-14 over the second and third periods to take command. The Sentinels, who ended their season at 17-9, never got closer than eight in the second half.

All of Cooper's points came from behind the 3-point arc. He made 5 of 9 treys, but was 0-for-2 from within three-point range.

Cooper pulled down seven rebounds and teammate George Turner grabbed six.

Marcel Harding led Steilacoom with 12 points and seven rebounds.
