Kris Knight scored 23 points and John Conrad added 21 as seventh-ranked Connell stayed alive in the Class 2A boys state tournament with a 70-60 victory over Vashon Island on Thursday.

Knight had 13 points in the first half as Connell (17-9) took a 31-30 halftime lead. Conrad had 13 in the second half, including nine in the fourth quarter as the Eagles stayed in front the final two quarters.

Jeff Hawkins added 16 points and nine rebounds for the Eagles, who shot 57 percent (12 of 21) in the second half.

Shane Davis scored 14 points for Vashon Island, which finished its season at 18-6.
