Coriann Wood scored 16 points to lead Connell past Elma 52-32 on Thursday in the consolation bracket of the Class 2A girls state tournament.

Wood scored 11 points in the first half, and five during a 20-0 run that Connell used to open the game.

Anna Lyle added 13 points and Cydney Knight 10.
Connell (20-6) also dominated the backboards, 48-35, with Wood snaring nine, and Lyle and Knight seven each.

Willow Cabe had 13 points and 11 rebounds for Elma, which finished its season at 18-6.
