Hartill leads
Rams
past Lyncs, 43-39

Jamie Hinkley’s putback basket with just over a
minute to play helped push Riverside to a 43-39 victory over
fourth-ranked Lynden Christian in the Class 2A girls state quarterfinals
Thursday night.
The victory sends the Rams (20-5) into Friday’s
7:30 p.m. semifinal against King’s, a 66-33 winner over Ephrata earlier
Thursday.
Hinkley’s shot snapped a 39-39 tie with 1:05 to
play. Britney Paul added a layup to extend the margin, and LC never got
closer than two again.
Angela Hartill scored 13 points, while Paul had nine and Sarra Arras
eight.
Hartill pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and
Hinkley had seven.
Brianne Ryan paced the Lyncs (22-4) with 13 points,
and Kristin Berendsen added 11 points and 10 rebounds.
