Pilkinton pours in 20 to lead Goats' 54-33 victory
YAKIMA HERALD-REPUBLIC
Cassy Pilkinton poured in 20 points to lead
fifth-ranked Chelan past Elma 54-33 in the opening round of the Class 2A
girls state tournament Wednesday.
Pilkinton had 15 points in the first half as the
Goats (21-3) rolled up a 27-16 halftime lead. Elma got no closer than 11
in the second half.
Pilkinton made 8 of 25 shots, including 2 of 6 from
3-point range. Izzy Barth added nine points for Chelan. Teammate Kristin
Schramm, averaging more than 10 points a game, was held scoreless in 10
minutes of playing time.

Eagles managed only six points in each of the second and third quarters,
and Chelan slowly pulled away.
Cabe pulled down a game-high eight rebounds, and
Chelan’s Erika Hanson had a team-high seven rebounds.
Elma hurt its own cause with 29 turnovers, and
Chelan's defense came away with 19 steals, with four each from Kaiti
