Kristin De Haan led four players in double-figures
with 18 points as fourth-ranked Lynden Christian cruised to a 71-37
victory over Eatonville in the Class 2A girls state tournament
Wednesday.
De Haan scored 12 points in the first half as the
Lyncs (22-3) took the lead for good midway through the first quarter and
built a 38-22 halftime lead. Eatonville (16-7) never got closer.
Kristin Berendsen added 15 points, Brianne Ryan 13
and Janelle Aupperlee 11 for the Lyncs, who shot 45.5 percent (25 of 55)
from the field to the Cruisers’ 22.7 percent (10 of 44).
LC also outrebounded the Cruisers, 46-30, with Ryan
grabbing nine, Julie Bratt eight and Aupperlee seven.
Sarah Painter scored 13 points and Casey Hallman 11
for the Cruisers.
