Michael Shelton poured in a game-high 25 points as Burbank held off Ilwaco 51-43 on Friday in a Class 1A boys state consolation game.

The Coyotes (12-15) advance to Saturday’s 9 a.m. contest against Toledo for fifth and eighth places.

Ilwaco rallied from an 10-point halftime deficit to take a one-point lead twice, the last time early in the fourth quarter.

Elias Serrano put the Coyotes ahead to stay with a 3-pointer with 5:40 to play. Serrano scored nine of his 10 points in the fourth quarter.

Jordan Williams led Ilwaco (14-12) with 23 points on 9-of-19 shooting, including 3 of 6 3-point attempts.

Shelton pulled down eight rebounds and Jake Haworth six.
