Jarod Schaak scored a game-high 25 points to lead Ilwaco to a 46-37 consolation victory over Cascade Christian in the Class 1A boys state tournament Thursday.

Schaak had 13 points in the first half as the Fishermen (14-11) built a 26-12 halftime lead. He made 9 of 18 shots and was 7-of-13 from the free-throw line.

Teammate Jordan Williams added 14 points, and Mooch Smith pulled down 10 rebounds.

Luke Breton Van Groll scored 18 points and Ryan Everett had 10 rebounds for Cascade Christian, which ended its season at 17-7.

The Cougars trailed by 16 points in the first half and whittled the deficit to four points, 39-35, midway through the fourth quarter, but they could get no closer.
