Andrew's 18 leads
White Pass to semis

TOURNEYTOWN.COM

Kristen Andrew led three White Pass players in double figures with 18 points as the Panthers beat Toledo 56-47 on Thursday in a Class 1A girls quarterfinal game.

Teammate Breanna Moody scored all 17 of her points in the first half as White Pass (24-1) built a 35-23 halftime lead. Kendra Redmon added 11 points for the winners.

The Panthers advance to Friday’s 9 p.m. semifinal against either White Swan or two-time defending champion Colfax.

Andrew made 7 of 12 shots, including 3 of 5 3-pointers. She also had three steals, three rebounds and two assists.

Toledo, which slipped to 17-9, got 12 points from Sara Buswell and 11 from Rachel Wallace. But the Indians fell behind too far too early, trailing by 13 points late in the first quarter, and couldn’t get closer than seven points after that.

White Pass’s defense came away with 19 steals, including five by Jaimye Ashley, and helped force Toledo into 27 turnovers.
