Jessie DePell scored 12 of her 19 points in the second half, sparking a Freeman charge and lifting the Scotties to a 52-40 consolation-round win over Lake Roosevelt on Friday in the Class 1A girls state tournament.

DePell’s free throw early in the third quarter put Freeman ahead to stay. It was part of an 11-0 run to open the period after Lake Roosevelt had taken a 19-15 halftime lead.

DePell also had five rebounds, an assist, two blocked shots and nine steals.

Jennessa Miller added 11 points and seven rebounds for the Scotties, who improved to 21-4 and will play at 1:30 p.m. Saturday for fourth and seventh places.

Jessica Loe led the Raiders with 11 points. LR suffered from cold shooting, making just 26.7 percent (12 of 45) of its shots for the game, and just 5 of 24 (20.8 percent) after intermission.

The Raiders finished their season at 20-5.
