Jack Quigg led five Hoquiam players in double figures as the Grizzlies knocked Connell from the Class 2A boys state tournament, 66-58, Thursday.

Quigg scored 14 points and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds, while Ted Nelson added 13 points and 11 rebounds. J.D. Ingalsbe, Joey Wayman and Emmi Johnannsson added 11, 10 and 10 points, respectively.

Hoquiam (21-4) took the lead for good early in the third quarter and eventually pulled out to a 51-40 margin in the fourth before the Eagles clawed back to within five. The Grizzlies went up twice by 13 later, but each time Connell battled back to keep it close.

Spencer Hadley led Connell with 17 points and Tyler Hawkins added 14.

The Eagles finished the year at 11-16.
