Mike Serko scored a game-high 19 points to lead Vashon Island past
Chelan 63-42 on Wednesday in the Class 2A boys state tournament.
Serko scored seven points in the third quarter, when the Pirates (23-2)
outscored Chelan 18-4 and put the game away.
Bryan Amstrup added 15 points and 11 rebounds for Vashon Island, and
Shane Davis added 13 and six rebounds. Serko also finished with four
rebounds, two assists and four steals.
Jeff Johnson paced Chelan (16-9) with 13 points, but the Goats suffered
from poor shooting, making just 30.8 percent (16 of 52) of their shots.
