Kia Gibson scored a game-high 25 points as Lakeside beat Eatonville 46-39 on Friday the consolation bracket of the Class 2A girls state tournament.

Gibson, who also pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds, hit 8 of 11 field goals and made 9 of 10 free-throw shots. She added an assist and a steal.

The win moves the Eagles into Saturday’s 10:30 a.m. game against La Center for fifth and eighth places. Eatonville finished its year at 23-4.

Courtnee Galvin chipped in 13 points for Lakeside, which outscored the Cruisers 14-5 in the first quarter and didn’t trail past the opening moments.

Ashley McCulloch scored 11 points and had eight rebounds to lead Eatonville, which shot just 25.9 percent (14 of 54) for the game.
