Alyssa Garro scored nine points and Kelli Davis added seven as Pullman raced past Vashon 39-21 on Wednesday in the Class 2A girls state tournament.

The Greyhounds (19-4) took a 16-6 lead at the half, and Vashon (17-10) never got closer than five points the rest of the way.

The Pirates, making their first appearance since 2002, shot just 27.6 percent (8 of 29) for the game, including making just 2 of 10 shots in the first half.

Jennifer Osgood led Vashon with 11 points and seven rebounds. The Pirates turned the ball over 29 times, however, and Pullman converted those miscues into 23 points.

Kelli Davis snared five steals and added seven points for Pullman.
