A day after suffering a loss at the buzzer, River View won one at the buzzer.

Levi Davis sank two free throws with 35 seconds left, and a last chance by Tenino to tie the game resulted in a turnover, lifting River View to a 65-64 consolation win over the Beavers on Thursday in the Class 1A boys state tournament.

Nick Gaston scored a game-high 28 points for the Panthers (22-4), while Trevor Baker added 12, and Davis and Mike Ledgerwood each netted 10.

A pair of Ledgerwood layups put RV ahead 63-59 with just over two minutes to play. But Tenino reeled off five straight points to take a 64-63 lead with 1:11 to play, before Davis stepped to the line for his game-winners.

Sean Goldsmith led four Beavers in double-figures with 17 points, while Danny Colley had 13 and Marc Hedden and Travis Neer 10 each.

Tenino ended its year at 16-9.
