Coyotes' scoring spree leads to 55-36 victory

Burbank scores 35 straight points in rout

Brianna Smith scored a game-high 18 points as Burbank cruised past Seattle Christian 55-36 on Friday in the consolation bracket of the Class 1A girls state tournament.

The Coyotes (23-4) used a 35-0 scoring run from late in the first quarter to the 4:11 mark in the third quarter to bounce back from an early 14-7 deficit to take a commanding 42-14 lead.

Seattle Christian, which ended its season at 19-6, was scoreless for 13 minutes and 24 seconds.

Tiffany Idler added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Burbank, which faces Zillah at 9 a.m. Saturday for fifth and eighth places. Lauren Rada chipped in 10 points.

The Coyotes shot 52 percent (24 of 46) from the floor to SC's 26.5 percent (13 of 49).
