Coriann Wood led three Eagles in double-figures with 22 points as Connell beat fifth-ranked Brewster 62-51 Friday in the consolation bracket at the Class 1A girls state tournament.

Wood poured in 13 points in the second half, including four during an 8-0 run in the third quarter that pushed Connell's lead from two points back to 10, 44-34. Brewster never got closer than four the rest of the way.

Debbie Molsbarger added 18 points and Sarah McGary chipped in 12.

Wood also finished with a team-high nine rebounds, two assists, a blocked shot and three steals.

Kyla Evans led Brewster (24-6) with 29 points. She converted 11 of 23 shots, including 4 of 9 3-pointers, and snared a game-high 13 rebounds.

Martha Taylor added 13 points and six assists for the Bears.

The Eagles (20-6) will face either Naches Valley or Toledo at noon Saturday for fourth and seventh places.
