Strand leads King's
into title game, 53-37
Top-ranked Knights put game away in first half

Sarah Strand poured in 26 points to lead top-ranked King’s past Chelan
53-37 in a Class 1A girls state semifinal Friday.
Strand, who netted 18 of her points in the first half, converted 10 of
15 shot attempts, including three of five 3-pointers. She canned 12
points in the first quarter, as the Knights darted to a 19-7 lead.
King’s advances to Saturday’s 7 p.m. title game against either
three-time defending state champion Colfax or Lynden Christian.
The Knights (25-3) shot 51 percent (20 of 39) from the field, including
a 59 percent clip (13 of 22) in the first half. Chelan converted just
29.5 percent (13 of 44) in the game.
Alisha Love led the Goats (24-4) with 12 points. But the Knights shut
down leading scorer Kristin Schramm, who was held to four points, 10 off
her average.
