Coriann Wood scored a game-high 25 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead Connell past Forks 47-28 on Wednesday in the first round of the Class 1A girls state tournament.

Wood connected on 12 of 21 shots for the Eagles, who improved to 19-5. Julie Hawkins added 12 points and eight rebounds.

Connell pulled out to a 30-17 halftime lead, and Forks never got closer than 11 points in the second half.

Madison Justus led Forks with six points.

The Eagles dominated the boards, taking a 47-28 rebounding advantage.
