Makenzie Brandon poured in 24 points as Seattle Academy beat Kalama 64-60 on Thursday in the consolation bracket of the Class 1A girls state tournament.

Jade Langston added 16 points and Chloe Jourdan 12 for the Cardinals (18-8), who trailed by nine points in the first half.

But SA went on a 13-0 run to start the third quarter, including four points from Mani Hooyman and a three-pointer by Jourdan, to take the lead for good.

Brandon pulled down a team-high 15 rebounds and Langston added 11 for SA.

Amanda Clark paced Kalama (16-9) with 24 points and 15 rebounds. Kristin Schuh added 14 points and Mandy Wall 13. Schuh also had nine rebounds and Wall seven.
