into semis, 61-44
 

Third quarter seals contest for Liberty Christian

Drew Hegarty scored 26 points and sank six three-pointers to power Liberty Christian past Almira/Coulee-Hartline 61-44 on Thursday in the Class 1B boys state quarterfinals.

The Patriots (19-8) advance to Friday’s 5:30 p.m. semifinal game against either Tulalip Heritage or Tri-Cities Prep.

Loren Bodeau added 17 points for the Patriots, who led all but the first three minutes of the game.

Liberty Christian put the game away with a 17-7 run in the third quarter. The Patriots also sank 12 of 18 shots in the second half.

Greg Giese paced ACH with 26 points, including five three-pointers. ACH slipped to 10-14.
