Senior leads Warriors with 21 points, 18 rebounds

Greg Giese turned in a stellar opening-day performance to lead Almira/Coulee-Hartline to a 57-45 victory over Neah Bay in the first round of the Class 1B boys state tournament Wednesday.

Giese scored a game-high 21 points and pulled down a game-high 18 rebounds, including 10 in the first half. He also had five steals, an assist and a blocked shot.

The Warriors, who improved to 10-13, also got 15 points from Kyle Tucker and 10 from Taylor McDonald.

ACH outrebounded the Red Devils (12-9) 46-36. McDonald and Kyle Tucker each had eight to assist Giese on the boards.

Giese made 6 of 18 shots, including a three-pointer, and was 8 of 12 from the free-throw line.

Dominick DeBari led Neah Bay with 19 points, and teammate Michael Corpuz had six rebounds.
