Ayers-Stamper leads LaCrosse-Washtucna with 17

Jared Ayers-Stamper scored a game-high 17 points, including 11 in the second half, as LaCrosse-Washtucna rolled past Mary Knight 56-28 on Wednesday in the Class 1B boys state tournament.

Ayers-Stamper sank 4 of 7 three-point attempts and finished as the Tigercats (12-15) converted 10 of 24 shots behind the three-point arc. Jeremy Miller, Adam Roberts and Justin Aune sank two treys each.

LaCrosse-Washtucna built a 25-14 halftime lead and steadily pulled away in the second half.

Sean Brehmeyer paced Mary Knight (14-6) with seven points, and teammate Chad Greene pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.
