John BringsYellow poured in a game-high 21 points to lead Taholah to a 62-52 consolation victory over Neah Bay in the Class 1B boys state tournament Thursday.

BringsYellow, who scored 15 of his points in the first half, made 7 of 12 shots, including 5 of 8 three-pointers.

William Grover, who finished with 12 points, netted 11 in the second half and Xavier Lewis scored nine of his 10 in the second half as the Chitwins (14-6) tied the game at 36-36 midway through the third quarter and never looked back.

Lewis snared a team-high 10 rebounds, and also had two assists and three steals. Issac Ellingson added 10 points for Taholah.

Steven Johnson paced Neah Bay with 20 points, Dominick Debari added 11 and Robert Moss hauled down 10 rebounds.

The Chitwins caught fire from the field in the second half, converting 53.6 percent (15 of 28) of their shots to just 22.6 percent (7 of 31) for the Red Devils (12-10).
