Entiat's first state win is big, 83-46

Making their first state-tournament appearance ever, Entiat posted its first state victory Thursday, eliminating Lummi 83-46 in the consolation bracket of the Class 1B girls state tournament.

Jessica Wilson paced the Tigers with 22 points on 9-of-17 shooting, and also helped lead the defensive effort with six of her squad's 29 steals.

Kami Yacinich, who poured in 16 points, also had six steals as Entiat helped force Lummi into 37 turnovers.

Leading 36-35 at halftime, Entiat put the game away with a 25-10 run in the third quarter. Stacey McDonald scored eight of her 15 points during that run.

The Tigers also dominated the backboards, 57-33. McDonald pulled down 1 and Yacinich nine.

Sarah Brady led Lummi, which also was making its first state appearance this year, with 22 points.

Entiat improved to 20-3, while Lummi ended its year at 17-6.
