Kady Kirkendall posted game-highs of 27 points and 10 rebounds as top-ranked Curlew raced past Mary Knight 83-36 Friday in the consolation bracket of the Class 1B girls state tournament.

The win sends the Cougars (24-2) into Saturday's noon game against Inchelium for fourth and seventh places.

Curlew raced out to a 12-0 lead, and Mary Knight never got closer than 10 points the rest of the way.

Nichole Miller added 16 points and Amanda Grumbach 12 for the Cougars.

Curlew outrebounded MK 55-31. Nichole Miller pulled down eight rebounds and Grumbach and Larissa Miller each had six.

Shareese Willey scored eight points for the Owls, who finished at 13-10.
