Kami Yacinich scored a game-high 11 points to lead Entiat to a 29-24 victory over Garfield-Palouse on Saturday for fifth place in the Class 1B girls state tournament.

The win gave the Tigers (22-3) their first-ever girls state basketball trophy.

Entiat’s defense pressured Gar-Pal into 26 turnovers and came away with 14 steals, including four by Shawnee Ledbetter and three by Lucy Grover.

Elisha Lopez scored eight points to lead the Vikings, who finished in eighth place at 16-11. Lopez and Courtney Shoemaker each pulled down six rebounds.
