Brian Baranowski swished a last-second three-pointer to give top-ranked Bellevue Christian a 37-35 victory over Connell in the Class 1A boys quarterfinals Thursday.

Baranowski received an outlet pass from Brandon Kats after the Eagles missed the front end of a bonus free-throw situation with eight seconds left. He raced to the left wing, pulled up and sank the shot as the buzzer sounded. It was his only 3-point attempt of the game.

Baranowski finished with 13 points, and David Downs added 10 for the Vikings (23-2).

Trailing 34-32, Connell took the lead on a free throw by Brett Clyde and a scoop layup by Spencer Hadley with 36 seconds left.

BC turned the ball over at midcourt on the ensuing possession. But Hadley, fouled with eight seconds left, missed the a free throw, and Kats grabbed the rebound to set up the game-winner.

Lance Whitney scored 13 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for Connell (21-4). Clyde added 10 points.
