Levi Davis sank two free throws with 13 seconds remaining to seal No. 4 River View's 42-39 first-round win over Cedar Park Christian on Wednesday in the Class 1A boys state tournament.

Davis, who scored a game-high 15 points, had 11 in the second half and six in the fourth quarter as the Panthers (20-4) held off a late CPC charge.

Trailing by 12 midway through the third quarter, the Eagles (15-8) used a 21-10 run to pull within one, 40-39, on three free throws by Jon Ramos.

Davis followed with his two shots, and two errant 3-point attempts by CPC missed their marks before the final buzzer.

RV's Trevor Baker added nine points and five rebounds.

Riley Bettinger scored a game-high 20 points for the Eagles, but Ramos was the next leading scorer with seven.
