Megan McIntyre scored 15 points and MacKenzie Taylor added 14 as third-ranked Freeman beat Rainier 60-29 on Thursday in the consolation bracket of the Class 1A girls state tournament.

McIntyre hit 7 of 14 shots, and the Scotties (24-4) raced out to a 21-6 after the first quarter. Rainier never got closer than 15 points the rest of the way.

The Scotties converted 50 percent (26 of 52) of their shots, including 59 percent (17 of 29) in the first half. The Mountaineers, who ended their season at 17-9, made just 24 percent (9 of 37).

Kristen Shoenherr led Rainier with nine points and four rebounds. Sarah Funk also had four rebounds.
