 Lakeside rolls to semis

Daggy's 12 points leads Eagles' 45-35 win over Connell

Alex Daggy scored 12 points and led three Lakeside players in double figures as the Eagles beat Connell 45-35 in a Class 1A girls state quarterfinal game Thursday.

Lexie Zappone added 11 points and Leslie Stillar 10 for Lakeside (17-11), which advances to Friday’s 9 p.m. semifinal against Lynden Christian.

Lakeside took control of the game with a 14-2 run in the second quarter.

Daggy collected a game-high 12 rebounds as Lakeside outboarded Connell 40-35.

Julie Hawkins led Connell with eight points.
