Second half lifts Scotties

McIntyre's 19 powers Freeman to 50-36 win over Chelan

Megan McIntyre poured in 15 of her game-high 19 points in the second half as Freeman powered back in the second half to a 50-36 consolation victory over Chelan in the Class 1A girls state tournament Friday.

McIntyre made 5 of 8 shots in the second half as the Scotties (25-4) used a 15-4 scoring advantage in the third quarter to rally from a four-point halftime deficit.

MacKenzie Taylor added nine points for the Scotties.

Freeman will play at 10:30 a.m. Saturday for fifth and eigth places.

Freeman dominated the boards, finishing with a 44-26 rebounding advantage. Taylor had a game-high 10 rebounds, and McIntyre eight, including seven of Freeman's 20 offensive rebounds.

The Scotties used their offensive boards for 16 second-chance points.

Freeman finished with 20 steals, including five by Taylor, as the Scotties pressure Chelan into 24 turnovers, 14 in the second half.

Kelli Bowers led Chelan (19-8) with 12 points and Alisha Love added 10.
